Quick weekend update

I have been a busy bee at work today - so I'll post really quickly a short blurb about the weekend.  ** I just noticed after posting this that I used the term "busy bee" a few weeks back!  Note to self:  get a thesaurus**

A quick photo of O and his cousin... and then I'll skip over his little puking incident on Friday... check!

017

Saturday, O and I met up with my friend Gina for coffee.  I haven't seen her in a long time.  She came sans Byron, so she enjoyed a little adult time (even if Oliver was there).

A few photos from my camera:

This spoon is delicious

Post nap smiles

Sunday's highlight included me making a delicious breakfast (scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, toast, coffee, and OJ) and also included Tim and I watching movies and playing with Oliver.  It was so blustery out, we did not make it out the entire day.  We watched Social Network, The Kids are All Right (after O fell asleep), and Whip it.  All were wonderful.  I also picked up Requiem for a Dream, which I had seen before, but had a hankering to see it again.  This is one that will be played AFTER Oliver goes to sleep.

That was the weekend in a nutshell - Oliver goes in for his 9 month check-up tomorrow!!  What a big guy!!  I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Per Tim's request...

Dearest Tim requested an update to the blog - so what better to post but a video of Tim and Oliver laughing and playing!

Love these guys so so so much.

Lots of new stuff

First a caveat that Tim and I are, in fact, not insane.

Oliver has mastered clapping (which so far has not gotten old), and after every time he clapped, we would say, "You did it!" or "I did it!"  And soon, it started to sound like HE was saying it, too.  I know he doesn't know what he is saying, but seriously.  I caught a little bit of it on video (but definitely not the clearest rendition).

Well?  Did you hear it?  Or are Tim and I like those people, as my mom puts it, "who look for Jesus in burnt toast."

Okay, yeah, and the clapping thing is just too adorable.

I also got a much better picture of Oliver's teeth - pay no attention to the acorn squash around his mouth.

Two teeth Oliver!

One last new item is that Oliver had his first bit of chicken this weekend (which he thought was delicious).  First protein!  Yep!  He is growing up TOO fast.

Oliver can do it!

Little O said that he can feed himself, thank you very much!

Tim and Oliver visit Mom at work...

I informed my coworkers that a certain little O was going to be making a visit to the Lynnwood office today.  Nothing brightens my day (or my cubie-mates) more than a mid-day visit with Tim and Oliver.

We went to Jimmy John's for lunch (note to self: they don't have high chairs!).

JJ, hubby, and Oliver.

My neighbor blogged about it... read it here!

Teeth count: 2

Less than 2 weeks since #1 tooth popped through, tooth #2 made it's debut on Friday!  So far, I have only been able to capture those pearly whites with my camera phone...

Teeth, as in plural!

He hasn't been grumpy or fussy at all about the whole thing, so seeing another tooth was quite a surprise.  He has turned the drool factor up to the max.  Another cute pic of the little man..

Cutie

Sunday, it was pretty nice out (especially compared to the windy day we had Saturday), so Tim, O, and I went down to the Ballard Farmer's Market.  Oliver had a lot of things to look at - his favorite was the street musicians.  Even though he is almost 9 months old, he still gets looks and compliments from strangers!  "Oh, what a cute little guy!"

Hanging out at the farmers market

Lastly, a video of Oliver watching "Wheel of Fortune."  Something about the colors and spinning wheel really catches his attention.

Work, work, work

Tim and I have been busy bees working, so I have nothing new to report.  Here is a video from the ferry ride to hold you over!  :-)

Weekend recap

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I worked on Saturday since I had to take Wednesday off to watch Oliver's mucus-fest, which meant that my Dad and Jana got another fun-filled day with him!  I heard they had a wonderful time; Oliver even got to go to his favorite discount warehouse store, Costco!  Not only does he love all the great deals on formula, diapers, wipes, and batteries, but they also have awesome lighting.  :-)

Saturday evening, Oliver and I went up to visit Jim, Chelsea, and my mom (who was like white on rice about seeing two grandbabies at once).  I forgot to take the camera out all night!  I did snap this one - we got home and little O looked like a sweet angel in the back.

Knocked out little guy

SO SLEEPY.  Sunday was, of course, Superbowl Sunday!  For the Superbowl, we went to our friends Sarah and Josh's place.  They just got two 6 month old black kitties - Walker and Zelda (brother and sister).  Oliver LOVES kitties, so you know he was all about them.

Oliver loves new kitties!

I also took a little video of the new black blobs and Oliver.  Walker is very playful, and loved checking out little O.  Luckily no babies were harmed!  Oh, and we are just poking fun at Josh's Michigan accent... love it!

The weekend went by WAY too fast.  Have a great week, everyone!

Do you see what I see?

Do you see something different about this little guy?

No?  Let's zoom in a bit.  On the mouth.

Okay, so it isn't much, but there is a tooth!  Yeah!  Oliver says, "Oh yeah!"

Hanging out in the crib!

Alright!

A much needed margarita

I will not bore you with minor details as to just how long it's been since I've had a delicious margarita, but last night, Tim and I went to dinner at the Santa Fe Cafe (thanks to groupon, this meal was not quite as pricey!).  If you are looking for a perfect margarita, this is the place.  And it was Margarita Wednesday (shouldn't EVERY Wednesday be Margarita Wednesday?), so all of them were $2 off!

A little dark, from my phone, here I am finishing up my second Cadillac margarita.

Margarita time!

This came after a long day of this guy (also from my phone, sorry):

Sleepy

Oliver's cold meant that he could not go to the home daycare (he goes Wednesdays and Thursdays), so I stayed home and hung out with him all day.  We ran a few errands, including picking him up a new board book.  I picked up one that looked very familiar.  I read the first page, "I am a bunny.  My name is Nicholas.  I live in a hollow tree."  I thought, OMG, FLASHBACK!  This book was a staple during the nighttime routine.  Oliver already loves the book!
