Little O has really turned up the cruising factor - not to mention that he loves walking (holding onto someones hands for assistance). The crawling thing has still not taken off, however as recently as last night, he did kinda "crawl" from one place to another. The only issue is that he just pushes with his feet and lays his head on the carpet! Talk about major rug burn! One of these days, maybe...
For now, Oliver loves crusing along furniture, his crib, across your knees - anything that is in arms length for him. Also walking around the house, however this has given all of us some bad backs. A friend of my mom's gave us her old walking wings, but it doesn't really seem to do the trick for us.
Here is a quick video of him assisted walking and cruising.

Oliver and Chelsea - the dynamic duo (in the future)
Chelsea, aka C-pants, aka Miss Chels, came over last night while Jim & Ali went to dinner for a date night. It has been at least a month since I've seen my beautiful niece!! Too long!! She was so talkative and loved to kick. I thought perhaps Oliver would love her like he did last time they got to spend some quality time together, but it seems that Oliver does not like to "share" his mom and Nona to others. We still all had a WONDERFUL time.

Happy babies!
Oliver actually smiled, then squinted his eyes BEFORE I took the picture. Silly baby.
Cousins hanging out in the chair.
Juggling two babes is definitely more challenging than dealing with one separately... how people have multiples and not lose their mind... I have no idea.
A side note - Oliver turns 10 months today!! What a big boy! And he can pull himself up in the crib - video to come soon, I'm sure! :-D

Blocks are funny
Oliver was busy laughing and knocking down towers of blocks my mom and I would quickly build on the coffee table. He thought it was just the funniest thing ever.

Stylish boy
No new photos over the weekend (slacker), so I'm stealing some from my mom from yesterday. Nothing too new to report, except that THIS VIDEO has over 1,400 views. I am so amazed that so many people would love slurpy spaghetti Oliver face. Actually - not that amazed. :-)
O was super stylish yesterday in his Robeez shoes and jean jacket. He's hanging out at G'Gpa's house.
Little O and his G'Gpa - my mom's dad - he is quite smitten with his great-grandson!

Lots of giggles
Tim is THE BEST at getting the little man into a giggling fit. I was getting ready to give Oliver a bath while Tim was entertaining him.
His laugh is infectious and I love it.

Another first for the little man!
This weekend, Tim, Oliver, and I had a first. Oliver's first overnight away from me and Tim! Gah! Tim and I went to a joint birthday party for two of our close friends, and decided that we would benefit by having an adult night out, and Oliver would get some quality time in with my Dad and Jana (Grandpa Carl and Granny, to little O). Tim and I were very nervous about the whole thing - almost 10 months of the little man every night and every morning - but we did enjoy coming home and just being able to crash and sleep in (note: I still did not sleep in. Argh.).
So Tim and I went and got Sunday brunch, did some cleaning, and a little bit of grocery shopping before they dropped him off. The report? Oliver was perfect. ::whew:: I was so concerned he was going to be crying uncontrollably or something but he was normal and stuck to his same routine. He even got an open invitation back, so I suppose that means it went REALLY well. Yeay!
So little man was back and after a barrage of smooches from Tim and me, we had some play time.
Always a good time when Daddy is behind the camera!

And although Oliver did not get to bed until very late - thank you Daylight Savings Time - it was wonderful to spend some extra time with the little guy.

Hangin' at mah crib.
I took a few photos without the bib (really, the drool train just continues), while Oliver was cruising around his crib.
Little man loves slowly walking himself around the crib... and yes... still no crawling. Although he is SO close to crawling, I still think he will walk before he can crawl.
Tim took a little video of Oliver shutting the door and playing with the camera.

And so it begins...
Sadly, I haven't had the time nor energy to upload some photos to my flickr account, thus no blog updates either. Oliver has become very cranky, and clingy - Tim and I haven't had time to do anything. Just google "cranky 9 month old," and a plethora of articles come up. Something about the unable to walk combined with learning about feelings is a very nasty combination. Doing the research, it does show that this too, shall pass.
Tim and Oliver even came to visit me again at the office yesterday, and it was the first time Oliver cried! Gah! I became "that person with the crying baby in the office." How quickly I tried to calm him down.
Look for some photo updates soon!

9 month checkup
Oliver had his 9 month checkup on Tuesday - Tim was happy to report that no shots were given! Yeay! Oliver's 9 month stats:
Weight: 19lb 8 oz (31st percentile)
Height: 29" (73rd percentile)
Head circumference: 46cm or 18.2' (77th percentile)
We were quite shocked that Oliver was not even 20 pounds - have you seen his chubby little hands?? The doctor gave him a good once over and said he was a good looking baby. I'm sure they have to say that, but boy, do I know he's good looking! Ha!
Bonus video of Oliver playing with toys. He also does this weird squinting thing with his eyes - I can only assume something was bothering them, because he had never done that before.
