Lame!

Today was Tim's first day back to work (and I shall be going back on Monday... argh), and what better way to enjoy his first day back than to have a picnic and go to the Soundview wading pool for his lunch hour? Yesterday was such a success, we thought we would like to do it again. So I picked up some Subway, and then picked Tim up and a few blocks later we were there!

Only to be met with disappointment! Closed??

We had to break the news to Oliver... here is his sad face:

We then promised him lots of cuddles when we got home... then he graced us with a smile:

He had a good time anyway staring at the trees and communing with nature. What a good sport. :-)

Volunteer Park wading pool

Today was another hot one, and Tim's last day before going to work, so we met up with my mom (she is calling herself Tutu Christine for Oliver) at Volunteer Park to dip Olly's little toes in the wading pool. Do you think he worked it? Daddy even took him in up to his knees.

And I hope you didn't think we didn't take any video! Here, Grandma, er, Tutu Christine and Tim play with him in the water... he then informs us that he is done!

Next year will be a lot more fun for him when he will be able to walk by himself and splash; but for now, we had a lot of fun introducing him to fun things to come!

Today is supposed to be another record setting day, with Seattle forecasting at 96 degrees. It reminds me of a few weeks ago when we had more record setting heat (hello, global warming) and we posed Oliver while channeling Anne Geddes:



He may have to get in the buff again to cool off!

Oliver got more doggie kisses yesterday when visiting Violet (see previous post). I still have forgotten to bring my camera to capture this cuteness... next time, I swear!

In other Oliver related news, he has taken to two new things that he loves. First, his new Bumbo! We got the Bumbo as a gift from Alison Trimm and he LOVES it. He enjoys watching everything going on without having someones hands in his armpits to hold him up. Second, he loves doing Super Baby! You may also know this as the airplane game. He absolutely loves it.
