Oliver toys & more cousin time

So I know it has been far too long since my last blog update.  This past weekend, we had more play time with Chelsea as Nona, G'Gpa, Ali, Jim, and Chelsea came over for dinner.  These babes are so cute!  Chelsea is getting to be a big girl and can almost sit up on her own!

Oliver is always ready for a photo op:

Cute cousins!

I even got to spend some time holding my niece.  She has the bluest eyes!

Oliver also is showing how gentle he is with Spike!  We have been amazed that Spike has yet to swipe at the little O.  I know it will happen at some point (a learning lesson for Oliver, I'm sure), but still amazed that Spike and Bailey have either taken Oliver's beatings or have ran away from him.

Oliver says, "Hi Spike!"

Oliver and I also went to the park over the weekend where he got to spend some time crawling around in the grass (he loves it).

Lastly, a video of Oliver playing with his toys.  Nothing too groundbreaking but still cute, nonetheless.  :-)

Father's Day weekend!

How is everyone's week going?  I am going to get some flack from my mom about this, but I had a video I was going to post and I accidentally DELETED it.  Ugh!  I actually deleted all of them from the Flip Camera - not sure what happened, but there you go.  Sorry.  :-(

To recap the weekend quickly, it was pretty great, to be honest.  Saturday evening, I got to watch Chelsea while my brother and SIL went out to dinner.  And if you are an avid reader, you will probably guess that Nona was here with both of the grandbabies.  :-)

Chelsea is getting super sweet.  She is cutting her two bottom teeth, so she was a bit cranky.  We went for a walk and watched the cars go by (one of Chelsea's favorite activities).

Sweet C-Pants

Oliver says, what are you doing?                      Nona and Chelsea watch traffic go by

We had a great time with both.  On Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day!  The Counter, a local burger place, was offering a free BFD - that is burger for dad, people!  Tim loves their burgers.  They actually cook them to leave pink in the middle.

Father's Day!

Yes, that is burger on Oliver's plate.  Oliver loves burgers, too!  Well, he loves EVERYTHING.  After later in the afternoon, we went up to one of my uncle's house for a BBQ.  You can always count on Uncle Dick to have tons of food!  Oliver made sure to let him know that it was delicious.  Items Oliver ate include:
Salmon
Cookie
Apple pie
Fruit salad - strawberries, pineapple, grapes, blueberries, two types of melon
Pasta salad- pasta, olives, green peppers, red peppers, onions, etc.
Cheese

I'm sure there's more that I am forgetting.  He got to see Papa and Grandma Jana, along with Grandma Buss, and Uncle Jim, Aunt Ali, and Chelsea again.  I also got to see some of my cousins and their kids.  It was a pretty packed house!  Oliver was such a good boy - just visiting and playing nicely, while the older kids were running around like banshees.

I'll take a quick Oliver break and show you these delicious LOCAL strawberries

Fresh. Local. Strawberries.

Today was a beautiful day, and lucky Tim was off to enjoy it with the little guy!  He took him to the Ballard spray park.  I cannot wait for Oliver to start walking - he is going to LOVE this even more!

Lastly, I came home, and we all walked up to a park up the road.  This park is pretty awesome - swings, spinny thing, bouncy things, slides, and, A ZIP LINE.  Cannot wait for Oliver to get bigger for that.  I am just so excited for all the things he gets to experience once he gets older!  I love that little guy!

Tim had a wonderful day with him; it was a wonderful way to wrap up a great Father's Day weekend.  Thank you Tim for being an amazing Daddy to Oliver!

Oliver the gardener | Yeay for nice weather

I have been a bit under the weather with a cold since Sunday evening.  Who gets a cold in the summertime??  Really?  I'm sure Oliver will be getting sick here soon (Tim said he wasn't feeling too good last night, either).

Before the clouds rolled in, Sunday was a beautiful day.  We went to my Dad and Jana's place for a bit and Oliver loved crawling and playing in the grass.  His favorite was pulling apart the flowers in the barrels.

Hey you!

Tiny Towing Service!

We came home, and then my mom came by to swoop Oliver up to take him to a party of a friend of hers.  Oliver charmed a new lady friend there.  :-)

Here's to hoping for more nice weather and healthy persons!

My Pal Scout | Oliver's new buddy

One of Oliver's birthday gifts was a My Pal Scout.  This toy is AWESOME.  You can personalize it so that it says your child's name, along with favorite color, food, and animal!  It is pretty cool.

Sorry for the delay...

You would expect an update after this stretch of beautiful weather, right?  Well my friends, I have been a busy little beaver studying for a test that is coming up in about 12 hours from now.  With my profession, you must take continuing education credits, either by reading materials (boring), or studying and obtaining designations (boring and hard).  This current one is called INS 23, which is all about commercial insurance!  Since my employer doesn't offer anything commercial, this whole thing is greek to me... I have been stressing about it and postponing it until the last moment possible.

So if any of you have a case of insomnia, let me know - you can borrow this book.  It will put you to sleep within 20 minutes!

Since I have been trying to study and read, I have NO PHOTOS OR VIDEOS!  Gah!  Luckily, my mom grabbed my camera today while she and her dad (my grandpa, Oliver's G'Gpa) went for a walk in our neighborhood today.

Going on a wagon ride, going on a wagon ride

Nice day                       G'Gpa loves this little man

Do not be fooled by Oliver's face as he is easily distracted by the birds (or leaves, or a gust of wind) - he is a big fan of his G'Gpa!  And do you think my mom pulled him in the wagon?

G'Gpa pulling O in the wagon

Nope.  Apparently age always wins these battles.

G'Gpa is goofy!

G'Gpa says, "Hey Oliver!  I got your hat now!   What are you gonna do about it??"

To which Oliver replies the same way, where he bats his eyelashes, and the person on the other end does whatever Oliver wants.  :-)

Memorial Day weekend | Wagon rides

I was just mentioning to Tim last night that a year ago we were at home with this little tiny baby burrito who slept ALL THE TIME.  And now, he is a crawling, cruising, and a no sleep machine!  And if you then think that a year before that, we were probably having drinkies while BBQing with friends, not having to be accountable for anyone but ourselves... my my my, how times have changed.

A quick recap, then some cute photos of you-know-who.  Saturday, Oliver and I had our first picnic, with barbeque chicken and everything!  We went to a little park by our place, set up a blanket and had lunch.  It was a beautiful afternoon.  That evening Timmy Toes surprised me with having my mom watch Oliver and he took me out for our 7 year wedding anniversary!  We went to Jak's Grill in West Seattle.  It was SO SO SO good.  Dinner was followed up with a Husky's ice cream cone.

Sunday, we went to a princess party!  I'm sad to report that I forgot my camera.  My friend Kirsten, her daughter Sophie was turning 3, so she had her birthday party which was an explosion of pink!  We also learned a very important thing about Oliver - he does not like feather boas!  Note to self.

We also went to my brother and S-I-L's house and picked up little O's birthday gift - a wagon!  If you recall from his birthday party, he LOVED that wagon that was on loan.  Here is little O in the wagon!

Oliver found a lavender bud

Nevermind the little mark on his forehead - he was busy accidentally scratching his face in the middle of the night!  Gah!

Oliver loves going in the wagon.  LOVES.

1st birthday - part deux

On Oliver's actual birthday, my mom came over and made dinner, and then Oliver had another go around with a cupcake.  This time, he definitely figured out that cupcakes are for EATING and not for nomming on like a vampire.

He enjoyed that cupcake so much!  Even if it was 3 days old.

Make a wish, b-day boy!               Grandma Kathy says, "Happy birthday!"
